Ripogenus Gorge

An aerial view of the mouth of Ripogenus Gorge along the West Branch Penobscot River near Millinocket, Maine. The gorge is 10 miles long and has a width of 700 feet at its widest. Just beyond the mouth of the gorge, the Big Eddy provides a prime fishing spot that is a swirling pool that is perfect for finding salmon and brook trout.
